Station 77 and Engine 98 Royersford Fire Department we’re dispatched to an electrical fire outside at the intersection of Mennonite Road and Sparkleberry Road, Upper Providence Township at 2349 hours.

Captain 77 arrived on scene to find a pole and tree on fire. PECO arrived on scene and secured the power allowing crews to extinguish the fire.

Engine 77’s crew extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher and cleaned up debris from the roadway. Engine 98 and 77 fire police assisted with road closures.

Due to this incident, a large power outage has occurred in the area of Mennonite Road and Trappe Road (113). PECO is working on the issue and provided an estimated power outage until 07:00 am.

NOTE: PECO was on scene and no firefighting took place until they confirmed all power was off and the area was safe for fire crews. Once they gave the all clear, the fire was extinguished.
