At approximately 10:40 am on December 24th, a resident in the 100 block of Knoll Drive in Upper Providence Township notified the 9-1-1 center of an exterior fire at their residence. They reported a trash can on fire that was melting the house siding.

Trappe Fire Co and Upper Providence Fire were on location close by for another call and responded quickly, they were also assisted by the Limerick Twp. Fire Co. Companies responded, extinguished the exterior fire, and verified there was no extension to the residence.

All units are available at this time.

Residents are reminded DO NOT throw out any hot materials or ashes into their trash cans. Use a metal can with a lid for these items.
