At 6:08 a.m. EST on Sunday, March 29, 2020. Trappe Fire Company was dispatched along with the Limerick Township Fire Department, Medic 324 and Medic 324A to a building fire on the 500 block of Village Way in Limerick Township.
Initial reports were of smoke coming from the front windows. Law Enforcement arrived on scene first and determined that the residence was unoccupied, but would be presenting a challenge to arriving fire crews due to the hording conditions observed through the windows. Upon arrival, fire fighters were met by heavy smoke coming from all of the windows and skylights.
Assistant 51 arrived on scene and confirmed the building fire. Engine 51 and Engine 77 arrived shortly thereafter and Trappe Fire Co. and Limerick FD provided the initial interior fire attack with both 51 and 77 providing additional exterior attack crews and equipment at the scene.
Trappe Fire Company Ambulance Medic 324 responded to the scene for direct medical assistance, and Medic 324-A provided rehab to the crews on-scene.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and crews thoroughly went through the residence and wet down the area to ensure there was no ignition of un-burned materials. All units were made available and returned to their stations by 8:00 a.m. |
