Today around 1329 hours, Trappe Fire Company along with numerous mutual aid departments responded to the 300 block of Jefferson Court in Trappe Borough.
While units were responding, Skippack Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene with heavy smoke showing and an occupant still inside.
The assignment was upgraded to a working fire. Adding another EMS unit and Air 66.
Ladder 68-2 responded with a crew of 5 and arrived on scene as the first due truck. Crews began to search the entire residence for any additional occupants.
Collegeville Fire Company Squad 34 and UPT Fire & Emergency Services Squad 68 arrived on scene and began to extinguish the fire in the basement.
Additional departments included Perkiomen Township Fire Company Royersford Fire Department Skippack Fire Company and Limerick Fire Department.
Two injuries were reported on scene including a minor injury to a firefighter.
The fire was contained to the basement and units remained on scene for over two hours.
Unfortunately, two pets were unable to escape the fire.
