Around 1253 hours, Colmar fire department ( Station 12) and other fire departments were dispatched to a warehouse fire located at 3400 Walnut Street, in Hatfield Township.

Assistant 12-1 arrived on scene to a large fire in the storage room with about 40-50 employees still inside and requested a second alarm.

With the amount of fuel load, a 3rd alarm was requested for additional manpower and equipment. While fire crews were working on extinguishing the fire, a MAYDAY was declared on two firefighters who were not injured but had low air and unable to find the exit due to heavy smoke conditions.

At this time a 4th alarm was struck requesting additional units and RIT teams.

Ladder 68-2 with a crew of 6 responded and relieved crews. Ladder 68-2 was requested to place the main at the A/B Corner and assisted with fire suppression, overhaul, lighting , and manpower.

Once the fire was placed under controlled, foam was used to prevent any hot spots.

Engine 68-2 was staffed at Trappe Fire Company with 10 additional members.

Crews remained on scene until 2230 hours.
