Shortly after 3 pm today Montgomery County 911 began receiving calls about smoke and a possible field fire in the vicinity of West 5th Ave and Williams Way (near Rambo Park) in Trappe Borough. Trappe Fire Company (77) and Collegeville Fire Company (34) were dispatched to the scene.

TFC’s TAC 77 arrived and deployed multiple forest fire hand lines to extinguish the fire and saturate the surrounding perimeter in the field. Collegeville Fire Department’s Engine 34 hooked to the hydrant nearby while Perkiomen Township Fire Department (66) provided assistance in the field. Collegeville and Trappe Fire Police directed traffic at the scene.

Approximately one acre of the field was burned due to a recently abandoned fire pit.
