Shortly before 4am a report was received of a basement fire in the 200 block of Gravel Pike near the intersection of Rt 29 and Rt 113 in Perkiomen Township. Trappe Fire Company responded with Ladder 77 and Fire Police to assist Perkiomen Township Fire Company. A small fire in the basement was extinguished. The house was ventilated and the area cleared in about an hour. Other companies providing mutual aid included Skippack Fire Company and Collegeville Fire Company.
