Fire Alarm Leads To A Sprinkler Activation In Collegeville

Station 77 assisted station 34 on a fire alarm at the Columbia Cottage located at 901 East Main Street in Collegeville at 1810 hours.

Assistant 34 arrived to find a water flow alarm and found a sprinkler head broken in the ceiling. Ladder 77 and Engine 77 crews went inside and secured the water while investigating the reason for the activation. Crews found a rusted pipe which caused the break. After the investigation crews assisted with salvage and protection of the property. There was approximately 2-3 inches of water causing extensive damage. All Station 77 units returned at 1900 hours.
