Working Dwelling Fire In Upper Providence Township

Station 77, Engine 93 Township of Upper Providence Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Engine 66 Perkiomen Township Fire Company & Air 66, Engine 34 Collegeville Fire Company, and Rescue 86 Skippack Fire Company as the fast team were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Greenwood Ave for a working house fire at 17:18. Montgomery County 911 center received multiple calls for a house on fire. CH54 arrived on scene at 17:21 with a working fire and requested two more engines to assist. E54 Limerick Fire Company and E98 Royersford Fire Department were added to the box. E66 arrived and laid into the scene while E93 went to the hydrant on Main street and Linfield Trappe Rd. DC77 took Trappe Command at 17:28 and requested all man power to report to E66. Ladder77 arrived and pulled in front of the dwelling pulling ground ladders, blitz fire, and used the main aerial to ventilation. E66s crew pulled multiple hand lines to attack the fire on the second floor. Engine54's crew went on Ladder 77 and did ventilation on the roof. 324-11, 325-1, and 308-31 assisted with firefighter care and rehabilitation for firefighters. Chester Ladder 65 and SD61 relocated to station 66 in covering the area for any other fire calls. Fire was under control at 18:33. Main street was closed until 20:00 hours. The fire is under investigation with the Upper Providence Fire Marshal's Office. All fire units were clear at 20:11. Firefighters were able to rescue three cats from the home. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family who were affected by the fire. Thank you to all of the assisting companies, EMS units, standby companies, the Upper Providence Police Department, and the Collegeville Police Department for shutting the road down.
